Remembrance Sunday - 8th November 2009

Bermondsey War Memorial

Stoke Newington War Memorial

Our 13 Heroes

Refreshments at 296

Remembrance Sunday is a busy day in the 296 Sqn calendar.

We start the day by attending the Bermondsey War Memorial with local dignitaries and ex-servicemen, and observe a 2 minute silence at 11am.

We then march past the plaque that honours the 13 Cadets of 296 Sqn ATC who selflessly gave their lives during the Second World War.

Later we lay a wreath at Stoke Newington War Memorial in honour of the fallen during the First World War, before carrying out a march past in front of local dignitaries.

We then open the Sqn for refreshments - a very full, busy, but enjoyable day.
